Hi,
I have no answer for you.
Perhaps someone else may be able to answer however, there are very few
who deal with NZ Immigration on this ng.
As far as a visitors visa goes - I would under no circumstances risk
this route.
They will have your details on file and by filing as a visitor, you
are breaking the law and may very well be denied entry i.e. held in
custody and returned on the next available flight.
Your chances after that are at the mercy then of the NZIS.
With the recent cases in the news, they have toughened up.
The only suggestions I have to offer:
1] contact the NZIS directly and explain the situation and ask
their advice.
2] contact an immigration attorney/agent - be warned there are
plenty of not so reuputable agents in NZ. There is a move to
have them regulated but IIRC the law probably won't come into effect
in time for you!
Good luck.
