I believe it has something to do with the skills assesment you
get as well.

I went for AIM general manager which is really tough and quite rare - so
when they grant them they really are assessed quite hard. I was lucky
enough to get this skill. I think that this meant it wasnt given more
than a cursory glance at DIMIA in terms of skills. We front loaded meds
and PCC's and had our request for 100K$ within 4 weeks of DIMIA
accepting the original application. We didnt get anything from case
officer etc - I phoned up the eqnuiry line, they gave me case officers
email and I fired an eamil to them - got something back saying 'ok
thanks - now can you send us the bond please'

I thikn there is a lot to be said for phoning that eqnuiry line and very
very very politely asking your CO (once the enquiry line tells you who
it is ) a question like ' we're moving out of our house in about x weeks
and might need to give you a new address, worried about post crossing
etc, anything you need to post us could you send it soon by any chance'
.etc etc etc kissy feet. But dont bug them with loads of ' ooooh hows it
going ' emails because I bet they get about a zillion a day and wont
thank you for it . They're just gnumans working in an office with a pile
of paperwork to do.

thats what I did and it worked for me. exc typo's cant be bothered to
correct them ;-)
