1. Getting permanent residence through employer nomination is possible
in some cases for those aged 45+ however it is *not*
straightforward. As George says, it's somewhat easier outside the
Perth metropolitan area (in WA).

3. There's effectively no age limit to get a 457 visa, however the
bottom line is that if you don't get a permanent visa, you will have
to come back to the UK at some stage, whether it's what you want to
do or not.
