If your partner is only 21 and is the one being assessed you will
probably struggle to meet the criteria for chef which is a 4 year
apprenticeship as a cook plus 3 years as a chef. If there has been no
formal apprenticeship then he has to prove 6 years vocational training
plus 3 years as a chef.
If he applies as a cook (which is still 60 points) then this is reduced
to 4 years apprenticeship or 6 years vocational training. This is where
the expertise of a migration agent is invaluable.
Also the process is easier if you are a married couple.
