We used Royal Mail international signed for mail - the only thing I
found stupid was that whilst you can track your parcel on line, once it
leaves the UK then there is no record of it whatsoever.
I tried to find out if it had been signed for in Australia, but was told
by many post office staff that the only record they have is indeed up to
when it leaves theUK.
So what on earth is the point paying for "signed for international mail"
when they cant confirm if anyone has signed for it, also cant confirm
whether it has been delivered or not. They can only confirm the date it
left the UK.

Having said that, our parcel took 5 days to get there, and got there
safely.
But if it had of got lost, then there was no way of tracking it.
