I presume the Higher Diploma in Computer Science did not equate to an
Australian Diploma and did not meet the requirements for a recognised
Post Grad qualification. I would be surprised if the HDip was not seen
as equivalent to at least an AQF Diploma in Australia notwithstanding
tha the HDip was only 12 months full-time.
It is possible that the institution that awarded your HDip will be able
to issue you with a BTEC HND depending on what modules you did etc.
Otherwise it will be the RPL route but you would need to confirm that
the ACS are at least recognising your award at the general level of an
AQF diploma otherwise you will need 8 years IT experience and not the 6
(as well as 2 project reports)
