1. Yep you can buy a property but you have to get approval from the
FIRB 'Foreign Investment Review Board'. www.firb.gov.au They also
have to grant permission if you want to buy a property over 300K.
Check it out online.

2. I have looked at my OSHC brochure and its says that the standard OSHC
will cover pregnancy/related services if your visa is for more than
three months and you have been in the country for over three months
continuously. You can also upgrade your standard OSHC. It's all
online www.oshc.com.au You can download a small booklet which tells
you all about it.

3. My friend is on a temp visa and had a baby there last year. Child
has an ozzie birth certificate, which i have to say is really
impressive looking, will be a British Citizen as it born to two
British Citizens of course and you just get the passport from
Canberra. She says it wasn't a problem at all doing paperwork etc
and was v.straightforward and she had to leave the country when he
was two months old to visit rellies in UK.

:) Hope this helps. I'm waiting for my student visa..arrrrrrr...it's
:imminent....start first week in Feb at Wollongong Uni doing a nursing
:degree. My hubby and son (3) are coming too. What are you studying
:and where?
