Hi Tony,
You are right about not meeting the subjects as a Bcom graduate from
India. However, most Bcom students from India usually would have
finished about 7-8 subjects required out of the 9 needed. I am assuming,
of course that his degree is of an acceptable standard for CPA/ICAA/NIA.
Santosh, if you are serious about migrating to Australia, you could
consider doing some additional studies from an Australian University
(like USQ or CQU) externally, from India and get the assessment as an
accountant. And after doing this, if accounting is still on the MODL,
you stand a good chance of getting in. Also if you have any close
relatives staying in Australia, you could consider using them to
sponsor you.
This way, you could avoid coming here to study like many Indians do,
only to find out that they needed just a couple of subjects more to get
their migration assessment as an accountant. You could get the two
subjects done from India and spend nothing like the 20K + that overseas
students spend here. Maybe you could avoid the SIR altogether and the
option of STNI also opens up.
Hope I have given you an other option to think about. Maybe you could
avoid the SIR altogether and the option of STNI also opens up.
Cheers
Orange
