I can only vouch for south east queensland (Gold Coast, Brisbane
Sunshine Coast

Average rental is anything from $200 to $500 per week depending on wha
you want. To comfortably furnish a house including appliances, TV, Beds
Sofas, Tables etc... you are looking at around the $10,000 - $15,00
mark but this is new and of good quality. Mortgages are as easy to ge
as in the UK. You can take out a Low-Doc (Low Documentation) mortgag
without having to prove your income with interest rates at around 7%
Decent second hand cars from $10,000 to $20,000 again depending on wha
you want

A magic fiqure i can not give but for me (2 people and a dog) We woul
be comfortable on $40,000 which includes a car, furniture, 6 month
rent in a 3 bed house, fuel and shopping. The cost of living is gettin
closer to that of the UK even though a Big Mac is half price
