The DIMIA states that your current passport must be valid for two years
at the time of making your application (ok that makes sense).

The UK Passport Office says that you cannot renew your current passport
until it is valid for less than nine months (ok that makes sense).

My passport is currently valid for seventeen months (no sense at all).

Has anyone else been in this situation and how did you resolve it? All
comments appreciated.
