Just a word of warning.....
My partner and I were looking to apply for a de facto visa but had only
been living together for 9 months. We applied and were rejected because
we needed to be living together for 12 months. Apparently, they will
only allow less than this in very special circumstances (eg, you
couldn't live together due to religious reasons).
I've been having a nightmare about what to do. We are going to find out
all our options but one possibility is a fiance visa.
If you still want to go ahead with the de facto visa, the Partner
Migration booklet is good for telling you what you need.
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf
If that link doesn't work, go to:
www.immi.gov.au
Online services,Forms & booklets, P for Partner, Booklet 1 (hope this
is clear).
Good luck with whatever you decide.
