I think you may be mistaken, in the case of the original poster, as
undertaking pilot training in countries other than your own is very
common. In places like South Africa and the US, companies offering pilot
training offer full accommodation and training packages especially aimed
at the UK/European market because of the unbelievable expense of
training there.

The way I understand the original poster is he wants to do his training
in Aus and then leave. DIMIA 's attitude means Aussie flying schools
are losing out.
