Please help, I am confused.
I have an MCSE, and CCNA after completing a 2 year Cisco Academy course
at technical college on day release.
I have been waiting to complete 6 years IT experience for the group B
criteria however many now say that MCSE has been removed from the list
for being equivalent to the Australian Diploma, and that the application
will need to be lodged under RPL
Other threads/forums also say that for RPL 8 years of experience needs
to be demonstrated.
I have studied the guidelines (Oct05) that state in the Group B
experience criteria that additional years may be required for the work
experience, whereas in the RPL category it states "An applicant who has
limited or no qualifications but who has extensive and varied experience
of at least six years plus supporting professional development education
may refer certified documentation to the ACS for assessment". This is
very confusing as I do not know under what category I should be applying
and wether I need 6 or 8 years experience for either category.
To add further confusion to the matter, I wish to appy under the MODL
ASCO code 2231-79 as my current role of 12 months is as an IT Security
Officer.
I have 18 years experience in Information Security however only some of
this is computer related and is unlikely to count in an ACS assesment
and due to the sensitive nature may be difficult to validate.
I dont know what to do. Any advice will be appreciated.
