Hi,
Earlier on in India all certified true copies had to be signed by SEM
special executive magistrate), something similar to the justice of Peac
here in OZ. Basically just signed and a small note saying that " it is
certified true copy" . Since a few years now they have stopped usin
SEM's and now you have to go to the court, buy the necessary amount o
stamps( looks like big sized postage stamps) and then the notary ther
checks the document word to word and sticks the stamps and signs it an
makes an entry of the document in his register as proof that he ha
done it. All in all it looks quite official. Currently my parents go
some translations done through the High court and then got the copy o
it notarised to send with the application.
Hope this helps .
Cheers,
