Hi, no they don't have to be the same person.
The sponsor is who you are related to and who will complete the Form
40, the Assurer is the person who can meet all the assurer
requirements and attends the centrelink interview. The sponsor does
not put up any money - unless they are to be the Assurer as well of
course. Hope this helps : )
