You should at least do some research into getting a birth certificate
You can contact the Sri Lankan embassy / high commission and see i
birth certificates for that time are available and if so what th
procedure is.
You should also contact the British High Commission in Colombo to se
if they registered births of British Citizens in the 1920s -

This will strengthen your arguments that a birth certificate isn'
available.
