Hi there

Congratulations!

May I ask what sort of visa you have obtained? The reason I ask is
because a friend of mine from another forum has been unable to get her
own mother into Oz with her on a subclass 136 visa.

It is possible that you might already know the lady I am referring to,
because you both used George Lombard. My chum has told me about
another couple who had succeeded in getting one of their mothers into
Oz with them on a subclass 457 visa, but she says that the criteria for
the mothers is identical with both visas.

If she is right about this, then I am puzzled about why some of the
dependant parents succeed but others fail. Obviously, there are all
sorts of possible reasons, degree of dependance, age of the parent,
availablity of family and other support elsewhere and so forth.

However I'm just wondeing whether you might be prepared to explain a
bit more about this. Quite often I've seen posts by people asking
whether their aged, single Mums can go too, and the Agents all say it
is very unlikely. They say the same about the Aged Dependant Relative
visa as well.

If you are willing to shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

Many thanks

Gill
