In theory, employment verification/checks can be done at any point while
the case remains open.
As mentioned repeatedly by some regular agents on this forum, a request
for medicals and police checks do not constitute a firm indication that
your visa is on its way. Nothing is confirmed until you actually receive
your grant letter.
