For sure, real estate costs are a big worry for us...we have not put our
house on the market as yet nor have we aranged shipping as we want to
have the visa grant first :)

As for suburbs, we are looking at Hillarys, City Beach to the North as
we have friends in that area but the schools we have found are south of
the river - All Saints and Wesley so we might have to settle nearer the
schools if we fail to find the right school in the North. This is
really why we are heading for Perth now to visit schools and finalise on
suburbs :)

I will keep you posted... :D

I was advised of my CO 4 days after I applied and from the outset, she
has encouraged me to contact her if I needed to...she is very nice and
helpful. She did say that since my application was offshore, my visa
will not be granted whilst I am in Australia as I have to be offshore at
the time of grant so I am hoping that it is granted once we leave on the
25th of August. This is a shame really as if it were granted now, we
could have validated whilst on this trip.

My CO did say to call her next week so I will see if I can talk her in
to my way of thinking...we live and hope - right? :D

I will let you know how I get on...take care.

Lucky we got out of Heathrow just before all the current crisis
began...hope things begin to ease up soon - what a crazy world we
live in now :(
