Oyzter,

1) I agree with sa-redback, you will need to go through RPL.

2) You need only a reference letter in letterhead, with your experience
in the company and details like if your job is full-time or part-time.
Your resume don't need to be on any letterhead.

3) Be careful about what do you say to your boss, because the Embassy
of Australia in your country will probably make a call to him to
confirm some information. You can say you want this because you're
thinking in make a course there, so he will not be warned when the
Embassy call him about a visa process. You can also include with your
application a letter asking them to let the contact with your company
to the end of the process. I can't find where I read that, but I think
it was in the immi.gov.au site.
