Hi Molly,
The case officer is just trying to apply conditions 4015 to 4018 of
Schedule 4. They're supposed to do this to make sure that people aren't
stealing children from non-custodial parents, and trust me, that does
happen. However, as a general rule, officers in Business Units have a
lot more ground to cover than those working in the onshore processing
units such as the ASPC or the POPC, so you can't assume they're familiar
with family law in your neck of the woods. First thing to do is a
polite explanation of the significance of the court order, then follow
it up with a letter from your solicitor if necessary.
Cheers,
George Lombard
