Hi Haley,

It's a queue, but within that, since there are so many regions and case
officers, the managers have some leeway, so if you have an application
with a good case for acceleration (generally involving provable facts,
eg employer needing employee urgently) then you can put it to them, and
sometimes they'll listen. I have to add that I don't think self-
inflicted injuries such as expiring medicals or having sold a house or
having quit your job are strong enough reasons for acceleration.

From an agent's perspective, this may not work every time and 99% of
cases don't have clear enough evidence to request acceleration, so don't
get your hopes up too much, you might be stymied by the RCMP clearances
or internal checks.
