Subject: Resident Visa in hand - how soon to move? Posted on: Fri, 25 May 2007 08:05:10 +0000

Mark, you noted in one of your postings that you had secured your
Resident Visa but hadn't yet sold your house or packed a box etc.. What
is the time frame from when the visa is granted and when you MUST arrive
in country?

Years ago I was granted residency in New Zealand and I was caught off
guard by the speed of the process (believe it or not) and how soon I
needed to be in country.

My wife and I and our 2 year-old son are now starting through the
Aussie process and I don't want to make a similar mistake. I will be
going through the Skilled Worker option and I have to get my initial
application in by October - my 40th birthday - so as not to lose 5
points. Any ideas as to the time frame after the visa is approved and
when you must arrive? Thanks to anyone with input.

Great Site! - Thanks, Mike Estes
