Average household worth half a million
November 09, 2007
THE average Australian household is now worth more than half a
million dollars, driven by increases in house prices and
superannuation holdings.
The average wealth of a household in 2005-06 climbed 14 per cent
over the previous two years to $563,000, according to Australian

liability ($92,000) from the average value of all its assets
($655,000).
But the statistics from the Household Wealth and Wealth
Distribution report also show the richest households are getting
wealthier at more than twice the rate of the poorest. [More at:]
