I am afraid that you can not apply as a journalist as it a 50 points
profession and you need at least 120 points to apply for 175 visa.
I give you a break down of you points here:
Profession: 50
Age: 30
English: 25 I assume you will get 7 Bands in each module of IETLS
Work experience: 0
As Booklet 6 clearly states on page 25 that if your nominated
occupation is worth 40, 50 or 60 points, and you have worked in skilled
employment (any occupation listed on the SOL) for at least 3 of the 4
years immediately before you apply. You get 5 points, but as I can see
you have only worked 2 years in your nominated occupation.
Last year my brother had migrated to Austrlia with the same profession
as yours he was working with a electornic news channel for the last 10
years, and at that time South Australia government sponsored journalist
with out any problem for SIR visa but things have changed now and every
state have thier own list of regional and permanent visas.
