(2) Do not send the hard copy application/documents. Regardless of the
amount you have spend certifying these documents, it is better to scan
and attach them online. The online process is intended to speed things
up and it does. When you complete the online process, you get
acknowledgement in 48-72 hours. Whereas it takes weeks/months to get an
ack for paper application. Later on, you could find a good purpose to
utilize the certified documents.
The earlier you apply and get into the queue, the better.
Also, I would STRONGLY advise you to start seeking state sponsorship so
that you can later have your 175 converted to 176 application. As it is,
even people who have ALREADY applied for 175 may have to wait until 2011
to have their cases finalized; and there is no guarantee. On the
contrary, state sponsored applicants are second only to employer
nominated applicants as far as priority is concerned. Do yourself a
favor and start looking for a state to sponsor you. Even the Australian
government is actively encouraging people (who are not on CSL or dont
have job offer) to seek this route. I also know many people who despite
being on CSL have got state sponsorship; and have warpped up their visa
application in record time.
Read this: http://tinyurl.com/lqy4l5 and other postings on this forum
for more details on priority of visa applications.
Cheers.
