Hi Bros,
Great to see you all electronic engineers here. It’s a good idea
to set up a thread like this where we can seek help from each other. I
am preparing to migrate to Australia under Skilled migration program,
not yet started but going to. I intend to apply for visa 175 or 176 but
firstly I have to get my skill assessed as possitive by Engineer
Australia because I hold a non-recognised qualification. I have some
questions regarding to skill assessment that i wish you might help to
answer. Thank you in advance. Here is some detail of my qualfication
and job experience.
I am an Electronic graduate but my experience is a Quality and
Reliability Engineer for a semiconductor company (Intel). i've been
working for that company for over 1 year.
Job description:
Applies engineering knowledge toward fundamental Quality and
Reliability principals.Must be capable of applying a wide base of
applications with these principals, including: device physics,
materials analysis, wafer fabrication, assembly processing, back end
test activities (particular emphasis on production testing basics),
interpreting device schematics and fabrication process flows, use of
various internal and customer specifications, software development,
failure analysis capabilities, use of acceleration stress testing,
statistical analysis (to establish qual/cert requirements and complete
risk assessments), matrix/network (with other engineering groups, test
sites, manufacturing sites, and other divisions), strong written
(report generation) and verbal
(presentations, negotiating) communication capability.
Duties:
- Generation and maintenance of specifications that support
the manufacturability of products.
- Execute qualifications/certifications for the introduction
of new processes/product lines or follow on activities of
existing lines. Write customer presentable reports on results,
enter results into corporate data bases.
- Define and support in line and end of line monitor procedures.
- Complete failure analysis of customer returns, in line/ end
of line monitors, quals and certifications to determine root
cause and identify corrective action. Write customer
presentable reports on results.
- Provide QRE support to Product Development Teams and other
teams/activities such as MRB's, task groups, etc.
Based on those information and from your experience of applying skill
assessment, do you think it's suitable for me to apply for Electronic
Engineer? And if not, could you please suggest any other occupation
that i can apply (such as Electronic Engineering Associate or
Electronic Engineering Technologist…)? Another question is
“ If I can not be assessed as Electronic Engineer, might the
Engineer Australia straight forward assess against lower occupational
category such as Electronic Engineering Associate or Electronic
Engineering Technologist, or I have to apply (from the beginning) for
skill assessment for those occupation? I am looking forward to hearing
from you. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Best regards,
