Yes, I am from pakistan.
Answering point 1. If your company has hired you for clients who buy
their software for Piping, Raceways, Equipment, Isometrics, HVAC,
Instrumentation and Wiring, P&ID, Stress Analysis etc. This reflects
they hired you for a job for Mech. Engg consultancy.
If they do not need you as an Mech eng then they would have hired a
software engineer or computer engineer for the job.
Point 2: When you provide consultancy and technical support to your
clients then for sure you use your Mech. Engg. competencies and
knowledge because the softare your company provides does not work in
isolation but it incorporates and processes Mech Engg functions; is'nt
it? So the work you can be considered as of an Mech. Engg.
Now for the reference letter, you have to design your job
responsibilities very carefully and get the letter from your employer
as an Mech. Engg. It is not difficult if all of the above information
(as I have understood) is right.
But for final confirmation forward your case to Amin Rahim, he is an
agent/ consultant and has joined this forum.
