Visa is valid to either 1 year after medical exam or expiry of passport,
whichever comes first. To maintain permanent residence you have to reside
in Canada for 2 years out of every 5. So yes you can land return to home to
clean up your business. But remember if you do not have a PR Card after
31/12/03 you will not be allowed to return to Canada on commercial carriers
and you will have to obtain a facilitation visa from an overseas office.
