Hello Sam

I can help you somewhat you should mention the PR app if you have
already sent it in since they will know anyways, you might aswell apply for
6 months they both seem about the same for likelihood.
If your application is refused you have until your present visa expires
or when you get the notice that it was refused, whichever comes later.
