Subject: Re: why from UK to Canada Posted on: Wed, 05 Nov 2003 12:58:32 +0000

Reasons for leaving?

In my profession, I would get more money left over in my pocket at the
end of the month, i.e. better standard of living.

I could rent my house and afford a nice house in Canada. Even
more money!

Ohterwise I consider Canada is more family orientated, whereas UK has a
drink culture.

More space in Canada, UK is very congested. We seem to narrow our
existing roads and then tax people for the congestion created. Then
spend the money raised on more road narrowing improvements. A ten minute
drive in Canada takes 10 mins not 3 hours.

I wouldn't have to use the underground anymore. Severely overcrowded,
unreliable with no air con.

Poor NHS service. I reckon our doctors are good, but they just don't
seem to have the time of day for you.

Some offices not fit for use in London, ie converted houses, too cold in
winter, too hot in summer.

Backward application of IT. i.e the higher up in the firm you are the
better PC you get. It doesn't matter what tasks you have in hand.

Poor customer service in UK. Reservedness and stiff upper lip attitude
leaves people to put up with poor service.

Back streets of London smell of stale urine.

Cars cheaper in Canada amongst other items.

Things I would miss: baked beans.

But having said all that, if I got a Visa tommorrow, I would still
have to go over every possible aspect of our day to day life and then
make a decision.

Pse- No offence meant.
