There is no rule that says you have to stay outside Canada for a certain
period before returning.

The only thing to watch out for is that UK airlines don't like to allow
non-Canadian residents to travel to Canada on a one-way ticket. Of
course it's possible - I managed to talk my way onto a plane with a
one-way ticket before becoming a permanent resident, but they are not
supposed to let you!
