Here we go again, eh N O B-ert?
Zzzz...
"A hostile world" fuelled by American Imperialism and arrogance.
Jerry - "R Obert's" postings are typical redneck fayre, don't rise to
them and don't confuse them with poor Robert who must be despairing at
his namesake's inadequacies as a human being. I'm only sorry that you
have to share a country with this kind of person.
Anyway - back to the thread...
I think a lot of people recognise the fact that in a lot of cases they
are going to have to start again when they get to Canada. That for me is
one of the attractions. Not because I've made a complete arse of my life
here - I've got a good, well-paid job with decent career prospects and
for the first time in my life, I'm beginning to feel relatively
settled...
..and bored!
I guess like a lot of people who emigrate, I'm beginning to get itchy
feet and the temptation to move to a country which has all the things I
love (the great outdoors, mountains, friendly people, A&W root beer)
combined with less directly personal benefits (cleaner and tidier
environment, liberal attitudes, low crime) is a real factor in my
decision to come to Canada.
If that means starting my career again, then that's a sacrifice I'm
willing to take.
I always used to be told "Follow your dreams," but never did for fear of
rocking the boat.
I'm so stifled here I feel it's perhaps time to get wet!
(Edit: Does that last bit sound corny or what?!? :D)
