Hi everyone,
I have a European friend who is interested in applying for a Canadian
permanent residency. He is working in New England (USA) with H1-B visa, and
has applied for an employment-based US greencard. He does not feel very
optimistic about the US gc, so he is debating whether to apply for a
Canadian PR. Would it be better for him to apply to Canada now, or should he
wait until he is denied by the US, return to Europe and apply from his home
country? Money is not a concern, but processing time is. Or are there other
issues he should be aware of? I guess finding a job would be an issue -- but
my friend scores fairly well on the points system (mid-70's) and solid
experience working in high tech.... Any ideas and discussion would be
appreciated.
