Re: Your thoughts on jobs in Canada for those without a degree (still worth the risk if you got what it takes) Posted on: Mon, 02 Feb 2004 21:20:07 EST

Get your arse over here my life is so much better.

More wage left at the end of the week.

better lifestyle.

you gotta knuckle down a bit to start with but jeeze its worth it.

fitter / welder (CDN millwright) my base rate is $30 CDN. "ALL" overtime for
me is 2X. Do the math and tell me.

Actually rate is higher at the mo. $32.5 hr

run a car and a minivan (one paid for already)

will take you bout 2-4 yrs to turn it all round again once you get here. but
if you got the right stuff its worth it.

I aint got no degrees !!!!!!!!!

depends how bad you want your dream and who you want it for ?
Me ? its for my son and his future (just lucky that I seem to benefit as
well)
If you gonna whine after a few months don't bother. This immigration lark is
long term stuff and only for those willing to tough it out. See too many
whine and whinge about taxi drivers and doctors etc.

last time somebody actually posted facts and figures about doctors and the
likes, the amount was minor (and counted over quite a short term) in the
grand scheme of immigration.

Its a different labour market over here from most of Europe. took me 3 month
to get first job @$24.5 hr

and about 4 days to get second (still there 2 yr and counting)

Me ? I am as happy as a pig in muck !
