There is a 50 year old stay at home mother /grand mother, whose
husband & children operate family business; wants to acquire
citizenship. She has no working knowledge of English.
Since, she lacks knowledge of English, she wouldn't be able to pass
the citizen ship test.
Now, my question is - how can she get Canadian citizenship?
If she can't get citizenship without English knowledge, then she would
have to wait another 10 years, to be 60 to get one without taking a
test.
When I went for my written test, one of the officers came out, and
asked if there is anyone who lacks knowledge of English, they can then
directly meet the citizenship judge; and (at least) 2 people walked
out.
What could've happened to them?
Is there a process for those who don't know English to get citizenship
before they turn 60?
Any recommendation or leads would be appriciated.
