There would not have been one if the CIA had not bankroled the Baathists in
the coup of 1968. Mind you, I think it was their part in the Iranian coup of
1953 that started all of this fundamentalism. Are you familiar with that
coup? The CIA and Britain toppled an elected parliament because it (gasp)
wanted to tax oil exports.

You have the most expensive military in history and when it .s up you
want to blame individuals? Where were the checks and balances in the
military to prevent this? Why were there private contractors in a military
prison? These soldiers were told to abuse prisoners by higher officers and
you say it's their fault? Remember Mi Lai? A systematic slaughter of
Vietnamese villagers took place, the generals knew and covered it up, and
one Lieutenant was sent to prison as the one soldier out of control and
responsible, just as you say happened in Iraq. If we hung a general in 1945
for what his soldiers did even when out of all contact for a few days
(invasion of Hong Kong by Japan, 1941), why should a US general not hang if
crimes by his men happen?

I can ask whatever question I want, and I'd dearly like to get one good
positive answer.
Terrorists screw up people they don't like, just as the minutemen did in
1780 to the British army. From the perspective in Iraq your "terrorists" are
resisting an invader who among many things announced that state owned
industries could be owned by foreigners. Why would a "liberator" confiscate
assets that belong to the people? In the past century the US has sent troops
into other countries or has paid for coups a hundred times, has lied,
cheated and stole. And you wonder why there are terrorists who hate the US?
I'd call you an idiot but that insults a medical condition. You are a
willingly blind fool, it's so sad.
