The alternative is to "land" in Canada before the March deadline. Then
if you wish, you can go back to your home country and come back to
Canada (as a Permanent resident) a couple months later at a more
convenient date.

However if the only issue is the lease, I would write it off in the
profit and loss account and move to Canada before the March deadline.
