I am Canadian, my wife is American. We have been married for 20 years.
We live in the US. I am self employed with a good income and long
business history.
We want to move to Canada. The business will also move to Canada.
Is it possible for us to buy a house in Canada, move there and *then*
have my wife go through the permanent resident application process?
For the life of me, I cannot seem to find an answer to this on the CIC
website. She does not work, but I have a good income, and she has
enough money of her own from past investments to not have to worry
about working.
We have a 19 year old son, but it is not clear at present if he will
stay here in the US or not. He has dual citizenship. Don't know if
this is relevant, but thought I woud note it.
