not being a canadian will not make a difference. employers want people
who can do the job.
i'm neither canadian nor american but attended an interview in Canada
as an engineer w/out any problem (did need a visitor visa, of course).
it looked to me the majority (or a very large part) of people at that
company were originally not from Canada. of course, you have to be a
good fit, speak the language well, etc.
