1. you can try writing it all under SE, but I am not sure then what it
should say in your reference letters for the research job, and could
that be construed as software engineering?
3. it would help if you both have documented test scores, but there's
no certainty in knowing what a specific immigration officer might
request. Your application shoudl not be hurt if your TEF and what you
claimed do not differ by much (best to submit TEF beforehand, if you
claim significant points in french)
4. You can submit the FBI fingerprints later. The fingerprints from
your home country cannot be older than 6 months, regardless of logic.
