My understanding is that what is put on your form is non-binding (however,
Quebec is a special case); given the timescales of the PR process, you've
got plenty of time to come over on research visits (will actually support
your application by demonstrating your committment) and actually have a look
around seeing house prices etc for yourself. You could also perhaps use
these visits to see prospective employers too.
