Dear All,
I am trying to sort out the immigration issue for my wife.
Here is the situation:
I got married before landing. (Married on 2nd June, 2006, landed on 27
June 2006). Unfortunately I did not know that I had to notify the
change in marital status while landing, and didn't inform anything
(didn't even notice that I signed below with marital status as
single). However, I had send a request to make the correction, and the
immigration department said they had made a note of the correction.
Now I am staying in Cyprus with my wife.
My problem is, how can I apply for my wife's sponsorship now? Is it
possible to apply from outside of Canada? An agent said it is possible
by using a temporary address in Canada.
Now, since there was a misrepresentation case (unintentional though),
I am wondering if its safe to do it through an agent. Should I hire a
lawyer instead? In that case, does anyone have reference to any
reliable lawyer, and the approximate fees?
One more question. Is she elligible for a visitor visa or student
visa, in case I get a job offer from canada and decide to go there.
Thanks in advance for your help.
