Eton Rifle's case is apparently family-based, not employment-based (his
wife
is a U.S. citizen according to his other post). Therefore
apparently he
filed Forms I-130/I-485/I-765 at the USCIS Charlotte
district office, and he
would not have received Form I-797. USCIS
district offices do not issue
I-797 Notices. Only USCIS Services
Centers do.

Sorry I've had that many forms to file.
Yes it is an
I-797 I received as notice
and I have actual proof that I filed my I-765
EAD in December on my receipt notice from USCIS which says that I filed
in December. It is the case status online and the staff on the helpline
who tell me that it was only received in February.
I am going to
Charlotte tomorrow so thanks for all the info as basically this has gone
on long enough.
