Subject: URGENT: B2 extension of visa denied... Posted on: Thu, 20 May 2004 00:05:33 +0000 (UTC)

Hi,

My parents request to extend their B2 visitor visa was denial today.
The letter says that " ...The applicant is no longer in a valid
nonimmigrant status and therefore must depart the United States." No
time is given. Does anyone know what is the time limit. Do they have a
day, a week, or a month to leave the US? I called the 1-800 number
given in the letter. The representative I talked to transferred me to
an INS Officer who would not give me a time but said as soon as they
could. I was looking for a more specific answer.

Also, will this decision affect their future B2 or other types of visa
applications?

TIA,
Unal.
