Subject: Naturalization interview and criminal record Posted on: Fri, 4 Jun 2004 02:43:35 +0000 (UTC)

I was interviewed two days ago and I passed the test of English and
history but decision about my application cannot yet made. The reason
is I was arrested more than 15 years ago in 1989 for small shop
lifting. It was in New York City. Now I live in Chicago. The case was
dismissed. I had certificate of disposition with my application file.
At the time of interview officer said that everything is fine but just
because of this arrest in 1989 he has to give my application to check
and sign for supervisor. And the next letter I would expect will be
for oath ceremony. Is anyone knows that this distant single incident
may deny or delay my oath ceremony letter?
