I faxed FBI a week ago and didn’t get a response yet.

I am
Russian. I passed my interview in Boston in May. But even before we
started the officer told me that he will not be able set the oath date
today because my name check is not done yet. It shows that name check
delays have nothing to do with what happens during the interviews. The
officer told me that name check delays are common and it may take
anywhere from 2 months to a year to get an oath letter. During the
interview we went over the “otchestovo/middle name” issue and the
officer attributed the name check delay to the fact that in the N-400
form I had put the initial instead of the full middle name. It could be,
but I doubt it that it made the difference.

What was your officer’s
first name?
