Same
issue with otchestvo in my case too, but inteviewing
officer did not
suggest in my case that delay in name check
processing is due to that
fact. In fact he did not tell me any
specific reasons for delay in
getting oath letter. He just told
me that "some additional security
check needs to be
completed" before they can issue oath letter. I have
found
out after interview that this "additional security check" is
a FBI
name check.
I don't remember the name off the top of my head, I will
have
to look it up tonight. BTW my interview was at the end of April.
Another thing: I saw posting in this forum several months ago
suggesting that FBI has delays in processing name check
requests for
Russian nationals. It seems to me that your
and mine cases confirm this
observation by earlier poster.
