The FBI does fingerprinting and the CIA will be a name check as will the
IBIS. If there is a hit on your name with the IBIS the delay the hit
causes could be a month to a year until it is cleared.

Two
things:
1) "othchestvo" or patronim is not really a middle name
2) You
are saying "FBI, as far as I know, does not do name checks for USCIS. "
I have recently got a reply from FBI that
they have received request for
namecheck from USCIS in
September 2003 and it is still pending. So I
don't think
your knowledge is up-to-date on this question...
