What is said is that you called someone you haven't met a bf and
considered your interaction with him as "love". Your use of those
words so flippantly cheapens the meaning of those two words "bf" and
"love".

You should have found some other way to express whatever relationship
is that you have with this guy or put a statement like "according to
my definition of bf and love, he's my bf and what I feel for him is
love".
